Festival del film Locarno 2018

From Piazza Grande to the world, the 71st edition of Locarno Film Festival is ready to project young and talented filmmakers into the eyes and hearts of international producers, directors and cinema lovers. The jury is ready to reward two emerging artists with the Swatch First Feature Award’s eye-catching cash prize and the Swatch Art Peace Hotel Award’s residency in Shanghai from three to six months. Sounds good? It’s even better.

Swatch continues its proud partnership with the Locarno Film Festival and, for this 71st edition, a special 710 limited edition watch is available on dedicated stores in Switzerland.

More about Locarno Film Festival.

For almost seven years now, the Swatch Art Peace Hotel has been a home and a studio for more than 300 artists from more than 45 countries. The contemporary art scene has been challenged and explored in ways never done before, and the network created in these experiences launches any artist that passes by into an open script of possibilities.

Elinor Nechemya - a former artist-in-residence and Israeli filmmaker - will participate in the Filmmakers Academy at the Swiss film festival and, during her stay at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel, her short film “Everlasting MOM” was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2017.
